Haven't you ever wondered if this might not be your first time on earth? I bet most of us have. Perhaps you've traveled to a foreign town that seems strangely familiar--even though you've never been there before. Or maybe you've struck up a conversation with a stranger, and a few minutes later it feels like you've known him forever.
Haven't you ever wondered what could be responsible for phenomena like deja vu, child prodigies, or love at first sight? I certainly have.
That's why I decided to write about reincarnation. It offers a fascinating explanation for so many of life's little mysteries. I know many of us have a hard time wrapping our heads around the idea. (How IS a someone's soul supposed to get from one body to another?) But I think the notion that we all may have lived and loved before appeals to people's hearts.
There are a lot of crazy books and websites devoted to the subject of reincarnation. But if you look hard enough, you'll find there's some pretty impressive evidence out there as well. Believe it or not, some of the most convincing "proof" comes from very small children.
Before the age of six or seven, little kids will often talk about other people they've been or other lives they've led. Sometimes they'll even talk about how they "died." (Much like Haven does in The Eternal Ones.) In our culture, these stories are usually dismissed as fantasy, but they're taken quite seriously in other lands. And scientists who've interviewed these children have discovered there may be a great deal of truth in their tales.
There's even been a famous case here in the United States. A little boy named James Leininger claimed to have been a fighter pilot who died in WWII. He gave names and details that he simply couldn't have made up on his own. Anyone interested in reincarnation should check out the videos devoted to James on youtube. They may blow your mind.
I wouldn't so far as to say I'm a believer. But I do think it's important to keep an open mind. And let's just say I won't be terribly surprised if I someday discover incontrovertible proof of reincarnation.
I suspect there are people in the world that we're supposed to meet. But I don't think we're always meant to fall in love with them. I believe soul mates can be friends or family members as well. In fact, I would say the first "soul mate" Haven encounters in The Eternal Ones is her best friend Beau.
I also think that there are people out there who are destined to be our enemies. (Anti-soul mates?) Haven stumbles across one of these nasty sorts, and I'd be willing to bet you have, too.
I'm afraid you'll just have to visit their website (or Gramercy Park) and decide for yourself!
Yes! And let me just tell you, it is action-packed. Haven is forced to infiltrate the Ouroboros Society in order to save someone she loves. I won't say more for fear of giving too much away. But I'll be posting updates on my blog over the next few months!
Yes, Mr. Decker will be returning for an encore.
Excellent question. I drink a great deal of espresso soda, and sometimes it messes with my head. The bio was meant to be funny. I sincerely doubt I was Catherine the Great or Amelia Earheart. I just find it amusing that some people who believe in reincarnation automatically suspect they were someone famous in a previous existence. History's seen far more chimney sweepers and barmaids than Napoleons or Cleopatras.
The fact is, I probably herded goats in most of my past lives. (I do find them cute and charming for some inexplicable reason.)
